Mercedes-Benz
Engineering Intern
This internship was very challenging, but very beneficial. Mercedes-Benz Türk
produces city-buses and coaches at the Hoşdere Bus Plant in Istanbul. Today % 64
of the buses produced by Mercedes-Benz Türk are exported to more than 70
countries, especially to Western Europe.
As an engineer in training at this facility I worked at directorship of Electric Facility
Maintenance and Operating for a month. I had an opportunity to observe some
electrical breakdowns in this factory and learned the necessary steps to find a
solution to the faults. Also I met with a real cogeneration plant for the first time. The
facility now supplies around 100 percent of the electricity and 100 percent of the heat
needed in the factory. I participated to seminars and periodic maintenances during
my intern. Additionally I had a chance to get some experiences about automation
systems of a big facilities by being a member of this team.
