Building highly available clusters based on Pacemaker/Corosync and running Oracle database as well as Postgresql, including highly available Active/Standby configurations. Deployment and support of the Bill-Master billing system, the own product of Inline Technologies. Development and implementation of customer's billing solutions for IP-telephony and Internet access. Oracle database based installations were in the focus. The tasks being solved were: DBMS installation and performance tuning, data migration from another systems and previous versions of Bill-Master, backup solutions deployment (Oracle DataGuard), SQL and PL/SQL development. Another areas of activity: Cisco System's equipment configuration, OSS systems (by Micromuse) deployment.

Maintaining all the UNIX servers in this company. There are about 15 Sun Microsystem's boxes from Ultra 5 to Enterprise 3500 running various versions of Solaris and about 25 Intel x86 based machines most of which are running FreeBSD 4.x and few - Linux. The functions of servers are following: A telephony and internet services billing system containing: - database server, Sun Enterprise 3500, running Oracle 8.1.7 RDBMS under Solaris 7 operating system, - several RADIUS servers which update billing information in database in realtime, - several log collectors - machines which accumulate the billing information in log files, - log processing server - a machine which parses logs accumulated by collectors and loads the data into a database with SQLLoader - web front-end to a database. Besides the UNIX sysadmin tasks I am responsible for most of Oracle DBA tasks including backups, performance control and tuning, SQL*Net clients installation and configuration. Administering HP OpenView NNM-based network management system. A mail system containing corporate and clients mailstore servers and two MXs. I have performed a migration from an old infrastructure based on Sendmail and Qpopper to a new one based on Postfix and Cyrus IMAP. DNS servers for our domains and our client's domains. I am also dealing with the Internet registries. Two hosting platforms: Apache + php + perl cgi + MySQL is one and Netscape Enterprise 3.6 with static only content is another. A dialup access control server based on the CiscoSecure ACS with an Oracle database as a backend.

Maintaining a lot of web-servers including famous in Russia internet-auction Molotok.ru, free hosting Boom.ru, web-conference server Talk.ru, web-portal List.ru (now coalesced with Mail.ru free mail service). Most of servers was running Linux, Apache, MySQL, php, perl cgi and fast-cgi. Few servers worked under Solaris and FreeBSD. My tasks were day-and-night fault control with 12-hours shifts, software updates, configuration changes, troubleshooting, security incident responses and performance tuning. There were also 2 Oracle and 1 Informix online database servers and I performed basic control and maintenanse of these servers. Taking a part in development and deployment of monitoring system. This system makes checks of various services (DNS, HTTP, SMTP, POP3, FTP, NNTP, MySQL, Oracle Net) on all our servers and free space, network interface load and other parameters via SNMP.

I was working there in conjunction with my postgraduate study making research in quantum dynamics of chemical processes. System administration was not my primary task on that job, but I maintained a few personal computer systems and local area network. I learned a basics of UNIX-like operating systems and Internet and then I had a lot of one-time IT works outside my primary job. These works were configuring email, DNS and web servers for small companies, connecting its LANs to the Internet via UNIX box as a router (I used Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD).
